Admissions

Nursery Admission

Nursery places:

We currently have places available in our morning nursery.

Children are admitted to St Margaret Clitherow Primary School at the start of the Autumn term following their third birthday (if places are available).

Attendance is on a part time basis for 15 hours.

This is a school Nursery class and as such operates during term times only. Children who attend the Nursery do not automatically receive a place in Reception.

For details of our Nursery Admissions, please contact the school office on 0208 310 1699.

Reception Admission

If you have a child born between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020 you should now be thinking of applying for a primary school place for them for September 2024.

You will find an Admissions Guide from Greenwich Council website, www.royalgreenwich.gov.uk, local libraries.

Royal Borough of Greenwich - Apply for a school place

A Common Application Form (CAF) should be completed on-line at www.eadmissions.org.uk This should be done by 15th January 2024. Please be advised that the LA prefers on-line applications but, if you want to complete a paper version these can be downloaded from the website. You should be aware, however, that the online process is quicker and more secure, and you will be provided with a receipt.

In addition to the CAF form, if you wish to apply to this school a Supplementary Information Form (SIP) needs to be returned to the school office by the same date. If you wish to apply to another Catholic primary school you will need to collect a form from the relevant school’s office. Applications received after 15th January 2024 will be considered as a late application and may mean that you are disappointed with your first choice of school.

Appeals

If your child is due to start Primary school in September 2024, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Tuesday 16th April 2024). You need to submit your appeal before Tuesday 14th May 2024 for it to be considered by Tuesday 16th July 2024. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.
